DC Shorts Opening Night Celebrity Bash

The DC Shorts Film Festival kicked off their opening night with a celebrity themed party at Madame Tussaud’s on Friday.  Party goers included an eclectic mix of filmmakers, actor/actress types, socialites, the press, and random vagabonds who were more interested in the open bar and defiling wax figurines.  You will see which group I fit into in the photos below.

The film festival runs September 8 – 18th and showcases the largest audience-run driven collection of short films  in venues all across the city.  You can check out the full schedule here.

Party tickets are still available for the following events:

  • Brazilian Carnival   | Sept 10 | 9 – 1 | Artisphere | Dance the night away with Alma Tropicalia (DC’s tribute to Brazil’s psychedelic pop movement from the 1960′s), the all-female drum group Batala, DC’s own Carnival Queen Zezeh Zax, live Brazilian jazz with Elin, and more!  $25 Admission price includes open bar provided by Malibu Rum and Barefoot Wines, and Brazilian delicacies prepared by Whole Foods. Brightest Young Things is the event partner.
  • Closing Party  | Sept 17 | 9  – 12 | The Atlas Theatre | It is always sad to see an amazing week end, but we are always happy to celebrate a good time!  Live music and open bar helps—a lot. Admission price includes open bar provided by Stella Artois, 42 Below Vodka and Barefoot Wines. The Pink Line Project is the  event partner.
